Thermal imaging is a diagnostic, which demonstrates pain in real time. It is not on its own a conclusive diagnostic modality, but allows a more accurate use of other complimentary diagnostics such as X-ray, Ultrasound and Functional assessment.

Frequently in the equine an injury to the rear legs will cause a weight transfer to the more fragile and injury prone front legs with particular reference to the knee, fetlock and tendons. Thermal imaging allows the injury pathway to be traced and the cause as well as the resultant injury to be treated. |
